John C. Radke received his BM degree from Cornish College in Seattle, WA and his MBA degree from the Keller Graduate School of Management, Chicago, IL. He was trained from 1967 to 1970 in electronics, computers and radar systems in the U. S. Navy passing all required testing for the rate of Petty Officer Second Class. He completed a digital electronics course from the Computer-Timeshare Company between 1970 and January 1972. In 1972 he was hired by Myotronics Research, Inc. to develop a jaw tracking system that would not interfere with normal masticatory function (the Kinesiograph). He invented a number of patented electronic products for Myotronics Research, Inc. between 1970 and 1983. Since then he has continuously developed electronic and computer software-based diagnostic devices for dentistry, moving to BioResearch Associates, Inc. in 1983 when Myotronics decided to terminate their research efforts. These include several systems for electronic incisor-point motion analysis, temporomandibular joint vibration analysis, electromyographic analysis and complete masticatory functional analysis. He is currently Chairman of the Board of BioResearch Associates, Inc., located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mr. Radke has lectured nationally and internationally in 20 + countries. He has authored >120 scientific articles and editorials that have been cited > 2500 times (according to Google Scholar) on the scientific methods (Fourier series, wavelet transforms, artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms) used for analyzing physiologic measurements in dentistry such as;
1) vibrations recorded from the temporomandibular joints,
2) electromyographic data from multiple muscles of mastication and
3) functional and parafunctional jaw movements.
He has also served as a technical reviewer and consultant for scientific journals..
Mr. Radke is a long-term member of the International Association for Dental Research and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He’s an honorary member of the Italian Academy of Electromyography and Kinesiography and Medica Odontologia Craneo-mandibular A. C. of Mexico. Beginning in 1969, he has received numerous patents for his innovative instrument designs. In addition, he is highly proficient with the Tenor Saxophone and a plethora of Mexican Folk Dances.
