My interest in Federal Indian law spans a 20-year period from my days as a social worker for a tribal nation in the State of Washington to graduate school in American Indian Studies at the University of Arizona to working in California on a 2000 ballot measure ensuring the ability of California Indian tribal nations' ability to contract (compact) with the state to pursue gaming enterprises as well as teaching courses in Federal Indian law and policy at Palomar Community College for 15 years and counting.  I am dedicated to scholarship that forwards tribal sovereignty and self-determination in all realms--economic, cultural, environmental among them.
