I've read a little about altmetrics, but haven't located empirical examples of institutions or individual departments using altmetrics for tenure decisions. It seems like the value of altmetrics has to translate to career incentives for professional scholars, namely tenure, to fully realize its potential, so I'm very curious about whether anyone is already using altmetrics for tenure or planning on doing so.
Does anyone know of higher ed tenure processes using altmetrics?
