The UMKC
Law Review is seeking one
or two articles to complete a journal issue on specialty courts—a symposium issue organized by the Honorable Stephen R. Bough, U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Missouri. Articles
addressing the implementation, philosophy, administration, successes, or challenges of family court, drug court, housing
court, or other related judicial initiatives are
welcome. Articles and essays of all lengths and papers by single or
multiple authors are invited, but preference will be given to works
between 5,000 and 15,000 words (including footnotes). To be accepted for
publication, articles must not have been previously published.
Both complete papers and proposals for a full paper will be considered.
Regardless of whether a paper or a proposal for a paper is accepted, final
papers will be due September 1, 2023.
Proposals or papers should be submitted by July 24, 2023 and should include
the following information:
Author’s Name
Contact information
Resumé
Proposed title of paper
Anticipated word count
Abstract or brief description of the topic (approximately 400-500 words)
