On behalf of the Akron Law Review, I hope that you might be interested in sharing your expertise at the Akron Law Review's upcoming Fall 2024 Symposium in Akron, Ohio.
On Friday, October, 4, 2024, the Akron Law Review will host a symposium on The Future of Healthcare and Health Law. We are looking for presenters with a wide array of backgrounds and experiences to capture the myriad of topics under the umbrella of ideas and innovation that will shape the future of healthcare delivery and regulation.
While the primary aim of the Akron Law Review Symposium is to showcase exceptional legal scholarship, the most effective solutions to the challenges we face in healthcare will emerge from interdisciplinary collaboration. This is why we plan to invite industry innovators, regulators, and academic thought leaders to engage in dynamic discourse on the innovations driving healthcare legislation and regulation. We see an opportunity to explore cutting-edge ideas, share insights from diverse perspectives, and potentially uncover transformative solutions. While The Future of Healthcare and Health Law is quite broad, we hope to solicit scholarship and create interdisciplinary panels focused on these critical topics: rebuilding trust in healthcare, how innovation is shaping legislative response to emerging issues, healthcare delivery reform, such as drug pricing and PBM reform, AI in healthcare, health information privacy, and how wearable technology is shifting us into an era where the patient is the point of care. Our symposium team is interested in highlighting the impact that technology currently has on all areas of practice and policy-making in health law.
In addition to presenting at the symposium, speakers will submit papers of approximately 10,000-12,000 words in length relating to their symposium topic. We are also happy to review completed unpublished papers. If you are interested in presenting at the symposium and having your paper published in the Akron Law Review, please submit a one-page proposal or unpublished paper by Friday, May 31, 2024 at 5:00 PM (EST).
Our editorial board is committed to making prompt decisions as to the selection of symposium presenters. All decisions on proposals will be made by June 14, 2024 at 5:00 PM (EST).
For those selected for participation in the symposium, drafts of papers to be presented at the symposium must be submitted to our team for the editing process by September 27, 2024. The articles will be published in Volume 58 of the Akron Law Review, which we anticipate being published in the spring of 2025.
