Call for Submissions
The Southwestern Law School Law Review is currently accepting submissions for Volume 54, Issue 2, which will be a Symposium issue published in May 2025. The issue will focus on essays geared towards “LGBTQIA+ Rights.” Authors will be invited to participate in a virtual webinar in conjunction with publication in the Symposium issue.
We are seeking articles that advance academic scholarship and address real-world issues affecting LGBTQIA+ rights. Topics could include, for example: Gender-affirming care regulations and bans; restrictions on “drag” performances; LGBTQIA+ curriculum limitations in K-12 schools; parental rights as they relate to the gender and sexuality of minor children; diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”) initiatives in law firms specifically or in workplaces more broadly; exclusionary policies affecting trans student-athletes; free speech and religious liberty exceptions from applicable antidiscrimination laws; and constitutional protection for LGBTQIA+ liberty interests in a post-Dobbs world.
Please submit your related articles through Scholastica and by email to Piper Hinson at phinson21@swlaw.edu and Professor Dani Hart at dhart@swlaw.edu to be considered. We are not accepting submissions from current law students. Please also submit a resume/CV along with your manuscript.
If you have any questions, please contact us at phinson21@swlaw.edu or dhart@swlaw.edu.
We look forward to reviewing your submissions and potentially working with you.
