The Georgia Criminal Law Review invites submissions of scholarly writings on recent developments in criminal law, criminal statutes, police reform, the carceral state, alternative sentencing programs, public and private defense, prosecutors, and the criminal justice system.

Submissions on related topics not explicitly listed above are also welcome. We seek innovative and thought-provoking pieces that relate to timely issues facing the criminal law community. When evaluating submissions for publication, GCLR will consider a number of factors, including preemption by other pieces, the topicality of the piece, the substance of the analysis (we are not looking for a mere overview of the topic), the strength of the prose, the clarity and organization of the argument, and the accuracy and quality of the authority cited. We welcome submissions from all authors, including students and graduating members of the Class of 2025.

To submit, please email your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document to gclr@uga.edu. All submissions should follow these formatting guidelines:
- Double-spaced body text
- Single-spaced footnotes
- Times New Roman, 12-point font
- One-inch margins
- Carefully edited for spelling and grammar
- All citations must conform to the 21st edition of The Bluebook

A short note should be at least 4,000 words (including footnotes) to be considered.
A long note should be between 8,000 and 15,000 words (including footnotes).

If you have any questions, please contact the GCLR Executive Board at gclr@uga.edu.
