The Georgetown Journal of International Law continues to invite submissions from legal practitioners, scholars, and other law school graduates for our upcoming Bi-Annual Symposium Issue. This issue will examine the interaction between international law and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on the potential challenges stemming from the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The issue will be published alongside our Symposium in March 2025, which features keynote speaker Professor Anu Bradford.
- Modern Data Privacy Challenges: Examining how the United States, China, and the European Union are responding to privacy concerns in the digital age.
- Business and Human Rights: Investigating the significant influence of private technology companies on human rights and humanitarian law.
- Emerging Technologies and the Global South: Exploring how countries in the Global South, such as India, Brazil, and South Africa, are developing regulatory models and legal frameworks in response to new technologies.
- Emerging Technologies and International Governance: Considering what an international treaty regulating emerging technologies might look like.
Articles must be 25,000 words or less, roughly 40-60 pages long, and cited in Bluebook format.
