Subject: Call for Papers for Global Security and Intelligence Studies Special Issue
Global Security and Intelligence Studies (GSIS) is currently accepting submissions for its upcoming special edition on Cybersecurity and Strategic Implications (anticipated Fall 2023). The state of global power and politics have changed dramatically over the past few decades as technology and global digitization have made their mark on shifting power dynamics. As a result, the cyber domain has been shown to play a crucial role in national security and the projection of national power. Cyber-based tools have been demonstrated to be low-cost and accessible by nation states, violent extremist groups, and hacktivists. These developments in power projection capabilities, rising regional powers, failing states, and international trade have driven the strategic importance of cybersecurity.
The defining factors of Cybersecurity and Strategic Implications are vast and can include a number of variables such as nuclear, cyber, economic, proxy warfare, energy sector, international trade, multi-national corporations, the evolution of tactics and doctrine, and non-state actors, etc. GSIS welcomes original empirical research, critical analysis research, research notes, action notes from the field, policy-relevant essays, and book reviews for the special issue. Book reviews should focus on the title’s contribution to, or discussion of, Cybersecurity and Strategic Implications.
